Been a while since the last update. Music continues to grow but we have been at it. We have a FACEBOOK PAGE and we have been recording! We have temporarily suspended our search for a vocalist for the time being, as we are concentrating on getting the tracks we have so far, recorded.

 

JDA committments, and personal issues did slow us for a bit, but we are no back on track!  MORE TO COME!

 

 

2-27-2010 NEW WINDSOR

It is with much regret that Jester'S Promenade announces that CJ TRUITT will not be continuing on with the band/ project. Personal reasons and time constraints make it impossible for him to participate. We wish him the best, and wish to stress that this is his decision and we continue on as friends. As this decision was made known to us rather suddenly, we will be discussing a replacement once we have  our bearings. Thanks for your support.

 

 

2-15-2010 NEW WINDSOR

Jester's Promenade is now officially Joel Pirard, John Curtin, Bruce Henninger, and CJ Truitt. The studio recording of the epic  song, 'THE ARCHWAY' is almost completed. 'Nexus' is the next one; to date there are 4 definitive songs arranged, 2 other 'epics' in the beginning stages. ' Jester' is an unabashedly PROGRESSIVE ROCK band.  We are excited!

Bruce has written some really heavy lyrics to 'The Waiting Room', one of these 'epics'.  Anyone familiar with the lyrical content of AVALON USA will be familiar with Bruce's lyrics.

The band is taking their time, working out the details and arrangements meticulously, because first impressions will define how twe are viewed once we put it out there!

8-20-2010 NEW WINDSOR

Much has happened  over the last few months. The project stalled slightly due to time constraints from THE JDA PROJECT shows and final promotion of DROPSTONES.

 

However, newer music for JESTER's PROMENADE was floated, and one more excellent rehearsal/arranging session took place. CJ TRUITT is THE SINGER. We had a private function with several musicians playing and out of that a new possible member is coming aboard. All I am at liberty to say right now is that he plays bass AND lead guitar, much like John, so the possibilities are wide open.

 

A piano track WAS recorded and the bass line for it laid down. So recording HAS officially started. John is also demoing a new tune, the 'F#minor thing' ( for lack of a title) that has a lot of promise.  OVERALL, exciting times. Looking forward to scheduling some group playing/arranging in the very near future.

We are at the point to send the demo of  THE ARCHWAY to be heard by our singer for it, none other thatn CJ TRUITT.

Recently did a live session run-through and it went very well. The song is gonna be so cool, and also worked out several others. We are well on the way!

 

3-17-2010 NEW WINDSOR

The new project has been christened  JESTER"S PROMENADE, from a lyric found in Kansas's song "The Pinnacle".

"we felt that we wanted the name to reflect the type of music we are writing, and this reference is at once a direct and indirect way of doing that". Both John Curtin and Joel Pirard are quick to point out , however that this is not a Kansas-soundalike, or even intended as such. Rather, the overall sound will likely be a melting pot of progressive rock influences, with the intent, of course on an original style. Joel and John have an extensive collective past, having played together on and off for more than 30 years.

Rehearsals with Bruce and John moved briskly last week, 2 pieces of music well explored. Recording to begin soon!

 

 

11-17-2009 NEW WINDSOR:

Joel Pirard and John Curtin  (both formerly of AVALON USA) have launched a new musical project, as yet untitled. This is the first collaboration of new music involving these to musicians in more than a decade.

Guests include Bruce Henninger (AVALON USA), and CJ TRUITT (formerly of ORION). This will be a prog-rock endeavor, and will feature guests from John and Joel's collective pasts.

Live work is a possibility, but for now,  is only a studio project. 

They are well into the development of the first tune, with recording not too far in the future.
